NaPoWriMo: Day 4

Oh, dear. I failed to write a poem yesterday! I remember starting out with a certain prompt, having difficulty with that prompt, and then it all blurs into playtime and movies. Yep. That’s me if I’m not careful. Procrastination turns into a big pile of nuttin’. Thus, I am working double time on NaPoWriMo today. Nothing to complain about there! πŸ˜€ Here is my belated Day 4 poem:

How to Write a Poem with an Orange Striped Tabby Cat All Over You

What more is there
Than this, the love and adoration
Of an orange tabby cat named
Moofasa?

You smile
As you remind
Him to stay off the computer.
He mews his acknowledgement
Of your voice, having paid
No attention to the words,
Just the tone, which indicated
That you wanted him to continue,
And so he does.

You smile,
Fingers lost in orange fur,
Ears filled with his purr.
That motor lulls you into
A sensation of floating,
And then he steps on
The computer again.

You smile.
He gently tugs
At your hair with his teeth.
And he purrs.
And he purrs.
And he purrs.

What more is there
Than this, the love and adoration
Of an orange tabby cat named
Moofasa?

So you begin your poem.
